ABOUT ³MANGER AVEC TROIS²: CSC Faculty members bring back this popular concert. The trio has delighted audiences who have likened the experience to a performance by the Œrat pack¹. Judy, Jana and Linda perform a variety of music from opera to standards, solos to trios. They present the evening with fun and flare. They will be joined by CSC alumni, current students and fellow faculty. All proceeds will go to the Conservatory Foundation which assists to underwrite the excellent programming at the Conservatory. This performance is sponsored by UMB Bank.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
Judeth Shay Burns has performed with the Central City Opera, Opera Colorado, the Aspen Music Festival, Opera Theatre of the Rockies, the Crested Butte Music Festival, the Santa Fe Symphony, the St. Barts Music Festival in the French West Indies, the Landmark Festival in London. She has been lauded for her dramatic ability, giving convincing theatrical performances as Baby Doe, The Ballad of Baby Doe; Violetta, La Traviata; Lauretta, Gianni Schicchi; Norina, Don Pasquale; Gretel, Hansel and Gretel. Recent engagements include the regionally televised Colorado Christmas, at the Denver Center for the for the Performing Arts, and recitals in South Carolina, The Woods at Furman, and in Santa Fe with Montage Chamber Society. Her concert and oratorio repertoire includes Samuel Barber's Knoxville Summer of 1915, Mozart's Exultate Jubilate, the Bachianas Brasilieros by Villa Lobos, and Carmina Burana. She has also performed as a back-up singer for Sarah Brightman, and appeared in master classes with Regine Crespin, Martin Isepp, Hakan Haggegard and Steven Blier. Ms. Burns is a graduate of the Mannes College of Music, where she was awarded the Richard F. Gold Career Grant, and the University of Colorado, where she was an Anderson Scholar. She has studied and performed with the Aspen Music Fesitival, the Circle in the Square Theatre Company in New York City, and is a recent graduate of the Goethe Institute in Berlin, Germany. Ms. Burns teaches voice at Colorado College and is also a teaching artist for Central City Opera. She has been an instructor at the Conservatory for the last five years. She is the recipient of two Pikes Peak Arts Council awards for best classical solo performance.

Jana Lee Ross performs regularly in the Colorado Springs area as a vocalist and pianist, often with her jazz combo Hidden Agenda. Prior to her move to Colorado Springs in 1996, she worked for many years as an actress and musician in the Denver Metro area appearing in productions at the Denver Civic Theatre, the LIDA Project, Chicken Lips Comedy Theatre and others. She has been featured in several productions with UCCS Theatreworks and is a music instructor at the Colorado Springs Conservatory. Most recently she served as music director for productions with Pueblo County High School, Ormao Dance Company, Torched!, and Cabaret ModBo.

Linda Weise is the Founding, Executive Director of the Colorado Springs Conservatory. Since the Conservatory¹s inception in 1994, Ms. Weise along with her husband, Keith Wells and the outstanding faculty and staff, have guided young musicians and performers to some of the nation¹s most prestigious colleges, conservatories, and universities across the nation.
Linda herself is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory in piano and vocal performance and post-graduate studies at the Juilliard School for Opera Studies. She has concertized throughout the nation, but is most proud of her performance work with the Conservatory students since her move to Colorado Springs in 1992 which include numerous performances with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs.

Linda is a nine-year member of the Rotary Club, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. She has served on the Board of Friends of the Fountain Fund as well as the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs. She is a graduate of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute and Leadership Pikes Peak. Her involvement in both civic and arts and cultural sectors of the community have afforded both she and the students of the Conservatory a wealth of opportunities to be contributing members of the Pikes Peak Region. She serves on the Regional
Advisory Council for the Central City Opera Association. She is a native
of Buffalo, New York and the oldest of four daughters, all of which now reside along the front range.


ABOUT THE CONSERVATORY:,Founded in 1994, the Colorado Springs Conservatory is a preparatory school for young people interested in pursuing immersion studies in the arts; music, theater, movement, and art. The Conservatory is the winner of the El Pomar Awards for Excellence in Arts and Humanities in 2008. Other awards and recognition include nine time award winner for the ³Best of² by the Gazette. Classes in music, theater, dance, art as well as jazz, musical theater and composition are offered along with private lessons on all instruments and vocal.
