Nurse Ratched runs her ward in the state mental hospital like a dictator, exploiting a group of broken men with manipulation & bending their minds to conform to her puritanical order. Their world and her control of the situation are shattered by the arrival of Randle McMurphy, a con-man and gambler who feigns insanity in order to avoid the prison work farm. When Ratched & McMurphy collide, what begins as a bet between the men quickly becomes a battle for the freedom and willpower of all the men.
