The small, strip-mall store is bright and clean, but on the plain side. The food, however, is much better than a place this size has any right to be. The German specialties are savory and scrumptious, beautifully complemented by the baked goods from Old German Bakery. DISHES NOT TO MISS: Hungarian goulash ($7.99), rouladen ($9.99), bratwurst platter ($8.99) and cherry crumble cake ($3.79)
(Full review)I enter every new restaurant with optimism and enthusiasm, looking for a lost chord of flavor that I’ll recognize only when I taste it. I like to ask the waiter what his or her favorite dish is, and I like to order the special. I especially like to order things I’m too busy or too lazy to make at home, along with dishes I make all the time, so I can compare and perhaps steal a new idea.
