Highly Recommended!!

My husband and I ate here for the first time tonight and were very pleased. The service was friendly and fast, all of the food was delicious and had just the right cajun kick spicy wise- even the sweet tea was great!! Recommended it to family and friends. Good family business!! We will be back for sure!!!

Very disappointed!

My friend and I went to Culpepper's expecting to try some awesome and authentic cajun food. I had checked them out online and saw that they won the "Best of Colorado Springs" award. The food was served promptly, by a very courteous waiter. The problem was the food itself. The etouffe' had a very strong fishy taste and smell. The roux in this dish and the gumbo had a very strong floury taste....as in probably not cooked long enough. The red beans and rice were extremely bland, as were the other dishes. The maque choux was the better of the samplers, but it too lacked flavor. True cajun food should have layers of flavors and the wonderful taste of food that has been lovingly cooked, tasted, retasted and spiced just right. The food here was basically bland.....needing salt, pepper and definitely hot sauce added to it all! I cook cajun food at home and was hoping to have some that was as good as or better than what I can cook. Maybe the chef should invest in a few cajun cookbooks???

Best Cajun food of the Rockies!

My husband and I were born and raised in cajun country and can firmly say, Culpeppers is authentic! Everything is full of flavor, fresh (even the Mississippi catfish), and plentiful. With the exception of a few creole dishes, everything here is like going home! The owners are friendly and eating here once a week is a real treat!
