Author Sheri Jansen-Olliges will discuss her new book, Timber Barons to Tree Huggers: The Story of Middleton’s Redwood Community, on January 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. Middleton is a community located in the coastal hills of San Mateo County and is ringed by stands of old growth redwoods, and beginning in the 1920s, a descendant of one of the original logging families began working to preserve the local landscape. Jansen-Olliges’ presentation will cover the logging history. A book signing will follow.
